Admissions 1. Criteria The MARC accepts clients for the residential program who have a genuine desire to maintain total abstinence from alcohol. Clients may be agency referred or self referred. Clients who are experiencing homelessness, or are living in situations that make sobriety difficult are more than welcome at the MARC. For a discussion about the admission criteria, please contact our Program Manager on (03) 9458 5001. 2. Cost The MARC is self supporting and receives no government funding, maintaining our autonomy. Accordingly residents are expected to pay rent on time along with a sobriety deposit of two weeks rent. If clients receive Centrelink payments they are entitled to full rental assistance, Clients are responsible for their own food, transport and telephone expenses. The MARC is a member of Foodbank and as and when food is available this is distributed amongst the houses. A further discussion of these matters will take place at the assessment interview. 3. Admission Process Step One: Phone the Program Manager on (03) 9458 5001 and arrange an admission interview. You can also download an application form from this website. Step Two: Attend Admission Interview with Program Manager to discuss your plans for recovery and your individual circumstances. At this point any financial concerns need to be addressed, as the MARC can be flexible in payment arrangements on a case by case basis. Following the Admission Interview the Program Manager will assess your needs and a decision will be made regarding your admission to the MARC Residential Program. Unfortunately there may be a waiting list and if successfully accepted into the program you will be placed on the waiting list and be admitted to the program when a room becomes available.
